Los Angeles, California, United States
Bark and Purr Alliance Fund (BandPAF) is a not-for-profit group established to provide pet owners financial assistance with veterinary costs associated with 1.) traffic accident related pet injuries and 2.)end of life issues, e.g., hospice care, humane euthanasia for geriatric and terminally ill pets. B&PAF also provides mini-grants to qualified rescues, independent rescuers and private adopters to cover shelter pull fees and expedite animal rescue efforts deemed "last chance" emergency cases. Funding priority is given to geriatric rescues (13 yrs - up) and life threatening injury cases. In addition to providing financial support, Bark & Purr also assists with ongoing advocacy efforts championing good quality of life solutions for senior and geriatric aged companion animals that enter the Los Angeles County & City funded shelter system. Bark & Purr also participates in the larger cross-posting community that use social media to vigorously network super senior/geriatric aged dogs and cats to potential adopters and rescue organizations in Los Angeles.

TAKING THAT FIRST STEP...

"Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."
                                                   - Martin Luther King, Jr.

2010
On Sunday, December 12, Bark & Purr visited the Baldwin Park Shelter to look in on a Miniature Schnauzer who looked like B&P's own Max that just passed a month before:

Impound #: A4221941
Owner Surrender
4 months old
"RUFFLES"
Impound Date:  December 11, 2010

On our way back to the car, we came across
this one little poodle with the saddest face.
We took her picture to be able to network her
and get a plea out online.

We did our silent shelter prayer
hoping someone would come for her soon.

We rescued Ruffles now "Fritz" and fostered him for one month.

The shelter prayer for that little girl got answered.

Ginger was rescued by Best Friend-Los Angeles
and fostered by staff person, Kari Hartkorn

2011
-A HAPPY ENDING FOR BOTH OF THEM-

GINGER will be adopted this month to a couple in Detroit

and

FRITZ, now TEDDY ROOSEVELT
was adopted this month by a wonderful lady
and her son in Solana Beach, CA
She found him on PETFINDER through
a courtesy listing facilitated by
Downtown Dog Rescue and Janet Cook
of Angel's Heart Dog Rescue.

Fritz is a regular passenger and goes to work with his
mom every day in her snazzy BMW!

NETWORKING AND CROSSPOSTING WORKS!
